Welcome to Quantock Outdoor Education

Alternative education and special education provider delivering outdoor and agricultural programmes to children & young people.

Starting a Bonfire

Quantock Outdoor Education (QOE), is an alternative education provider. We aim to inspire young people to learn, enjoy and embrace the outdoors. This is delivered either 1:1, 1:2 or in small group sessions by our trained QOE coordinators. We re-engage young people in learning, helping them to build confidence and self esteem through vocational training and meaningful work.

We provide unique learning environments for the children & young people that we work with. It is essential that we build positive, trusting relationships with them & their families.

The individual programmes that we develop for each child is designed to develop a wide range of skills, as well as focusing on their social and emotional well-being. Our therapeutic approach aims to revisit gaps in childhood play, learning and experiences.

Children learn to assess, appreciate and take risks, making sensible, informed decisions about how to tackle the activities and experiences they encounter. Whilst learning to be self-sufficient and take care of themselves, which boosts their confidence and self-esteem.
